Sculptures will line the streets of Chesterfield town centre to encourage more visitors.

The new art works will be installed at The Yards in the town and will include a number of gloved hands that are holding various items.

Other sculptures planned for the area are a falcon and a sleeping puppy.

All the sculptures will be placed in relevant areas, the puppy will sit near to Theatre Yard, once known as The Kennels and the falcon will feature in Falcon Yard.

Councillor Nick Stringer "Something needed to be done to add to what is already a really upcoming and quirky part of the town, so it just seemed natural to stick to the themes of the yards."

The project will not be funded by taxpayers in the Town as Chesterfield Borough Council managed to secured European funding.
