Let us introduce ourselves. We are the Wireless Group and we recruit awesome people.
We believe that if you work for us, we can offer an exciting career path within one of the UK’s largest media organisations. Wireless Group is part of News UK, which is part of News Corp – a global media business focused on creating and distributing content that educates, entertains, informs and inspires our customers.
Online, offline, at work and at play News UK is the proud owner of a stable of news and media brands including the Sun and the Times Newspapers, that span the most popular to the most respected, covering the highbrow to the lowdown; providing the first flash and the last word.
Wireless Group is now a part of News UK. Our Radio GB division operates four national radio stations; including talkSPORT the world's biggest sports radio station, and Virgin Radio. It also operates 12 independent local radio (ILR) stations in England and Wales, and a number of digital radio multiplexes throughout GB.
At Wireless Group we understand that our strength lies in the talent, experience and abilities of our people and we are currently looking for new members to join our Events Team in the following locations: Blackpool, Bradford, Chesterfield, Wigan, Stoke-on-Trent, Wolverhampton and Swansea.
In an increasingly commercial world it has become more important than ever for businesses to look for more direct ways to engage with their target audience. This kind of ‘up close and personal’ interaction is notoriously difficult both logistically and creatively for brands and business to achieve, but our street team deliver this kind of interaction day in day out. We always plan to be at the busiest, most fun and engaging events across our regions. Where our listeners go to enjoy themselves, we’ll be there too and as a member of our street team, this is your opportunity to come along with us.
You will need to be a warm, polite and confident communicator and able to talk to all age ranges.
What do we need from you?
A full driving licence is a must as you’ll be visiting all the corners of our broadcast area. You will need an outgoing, lively personality and be willing to speak live on the radio sometimes. You are the type of person that is organised, good with social media and REALLY good at chatting with people in person.
No previous experience in broadcasting is required but you will need to demonstrate commitment and be a great team player with initiative. You will need to be able to work flexible hours, including weekends.
