Chesterfield manager Gary Caldwell has continued to add to his squad just in time to beat the January transfer window closing by signing midfielder Liam Grimshaw from Preston North End.
The former Manchester United youngster arrives at the Proact Stadium on loan until the end of the season.
21-year old Grimshaw signed for Preston North End just over a year ago from United, making seven appearances this term for the Deepdale club, the last of which came against Brighton and Hove Albion earlier this month.
Before leaving Old Trafford for an undisclosed fee he had enjoyed a loan spell north of the border at Motherwell where he made 16 appearances.
The signing means Chesterfield have snapped up two midfielders, a defender and a striker on transfer deadline day with Peak FM understanding that is all the Spireites will be doing in terms of players coming into the club.
