Chesterfield fall to the bottom of the National League

The Spireites lost 2-1 at Bromley on Saturday.

Chesterfield have now gone ten games without a win so far this season in the National League.

The Spireites were narrowly beaten 2-1 by Bromley on Saturday down in London.

Michael Cheek opened the scoring for the home side on twenty-six minutes, until Liam Mandeville notched his first goal for Chesterfield to level proceedings on seventy-two minutes.

However, a lapse in concentration led to Cheek doubling his account for the day, as Bromley secured all three points less than a minute after Chesterfield had equalised.

Following the game, Spireites defender Will Evans criticised their lack of focus;

"We were on top when we scored, and the momentum was with us.

"But to concede within ten or fifteen seconds of that was criminal really, it's not on and we need to assess the situation.

"We played well in patches today, but we need to sustain those patches, cut out the silly mistakes and demand more from each other."

The result means Chesterfield are now 24th in the National League.
