The Spireites came from behind to beat Aldershot 2-1 at the Proact.
Goals from Scott Boden and Liam Mandeville secured Chesterfield's second victory of the season on Saturday.
It wasn't a straight forward afternoon for the home side though, who trailed in the game early on.
Ethan Chislett notched for the visitors on twelve minutes from close range, after Shwan Jalal had previously saved Harry Panayiotou's strike.
However, Scott Boden levelled the game before the interval with his sixth goal of the campaign.
The striker was on the end of Liam Mandeville's low cross to ensure John Sheridan's men went into the break on level terms.
Just five minutes into the second half, Aldershot were awarded a penalty when Jalal brought down Shamir Mullings in the box.
Panayiotou stepped up, but skied his effort over the bar, in what proved to be a key moment.
Just six minutes later, Liam Mandeville completed the turn around with thirty-five minutes remaining.
He coolly slotted home after collecting the ball twenty-five yards from goal.
Despite a tense finish to the game, the hosts held on the relieve a bit of pressure on under fire boss John Sheridan.
Speaking afterwards, Chesterfield's Assistant Manager Glynn Snodin praised Sheridan's team selection, as both of the goal scorers were brought into the side;
"Credit to the boys, they hung in there, they dug in. After going behind again after ten or eleven minutes, you can't help but think 'here we go again'.
"John was brave with his choices today and its paid off today."
Midfielder Sam Wedgbury was also delighted to get another home win;
"We needed a win today. It doesn't matter how it comes sometimes.
"You need a bit of luck don't you, and we definitely got a bit of that today, and we showed good character."
The result leaves the Spireites 22nd in the National League-two points from safety.
