Derbyshire beaten by Northamptonshire at Chesterfield's Queen's Park

Derbyshire have lost their game at home to Northamptonshire at Chesterfield's Queen's Park.

Luke Proctor finished with four wickets as Northamptonshire wrapped up a 72 run victory.

Derbyshire went into the third day needing 164 with five wickets intact but were bowled out for 246. 

Tom Lace top scored with 41 and Fynn Hudson-Prentice followed his first innings half century with an unbeaten 26 but Derbyshire never threatened to reach their target of 319.

Proctor finished with 4 for 26 and Ravi Rampaul provided some late entertainment by driving Matt Coles into the sightscreen before he pulled Ben Sanderson to deep square leg to seal a 22 point win for the visitors.

Derbyshire are back at Queen's Park on Saturday in T20 action against Yorkshire.
