Goalkeeper Ross Fitzsimons has today rejoined Chesterfield on loan from Notts County, after saving a penalty and keeping a clean sheet for his parent club against the Spireites over the weekend.

Fitzsimons arrived at the Proact in the middle of last month to provide competition for Shwan Jalal.

After playing in a friendly fixture at Staveley Miners Welfare, he was recalled by Notts a week later following an injury to their first-choice keeper and played against the Spireites at the weekend.

Fitzsimons helped Notts to a 3-0 win over Chesterfield, saving a Scott Boden penalty, before stopping a David Buchanan effort which looked destined for the top corner in the second half.

Subject to the necessary paperwork being rubber-stamped, the 25-year-old is due to remain at the Proact until April 25.
