Chesterfield manager John Sheridan has confirmed two loan signings he was close to securing have now fallen through.
The Spireites boss told us of his frustration with the way the situation was handled: "We agreed terms and everything with the club and last minute they've reneged on it.
"We've been enquiring about the same two players for about two or three weeks and we all thought it was a go-ahead and we agreed on it.
"The less said the better for me because I'm not happy with the way it went. I thought we were going to have two players here today but it's not to be so we move on and look elsewhere. I'm not happy with the way it went.
"That's just part and parcel of football. They're not my players, I can't make them come here and I can't tell the clubs they've got to come here so it's their decision.
"But I'm disappointed with the way it ended because I've been working hard to get it over the line and we actually did and then they renege on it. But that's life."
The Spireites face Boreham Wood tomorrow away from home. Looking ahead to the game Sheridan said: "It's a funny old league. Everyone beats everyone so we can only look at ourselves and concentrate on ourselves. I know we're good enough."
"Boreham Wood are a good team and have got some good players. We're weary of them but we've got to go there and put our stamp on the game. It's going to be a tough game, we're away from home so we're just trying to get that first win if we can."
