The Spireites exited the FA Trophy after losing 2-0 to Brackley Town at the Proact on Saturday.
The away side took the lead seven minutes into the second half, when Glenn Walker’s corner found its way to Lee Ndlovu, who fired home from inside the six-yard box.
Brackley scored a second when James Armson was played through on the right and the midfielder calmly rolled the ball past Jalal and into the back of the net.
Manager John Sheridan said: "I’ve got a lot of work on my hands. I knew that when I was coming in. I gave one or two the opportunity, changed it around a little bit,
“From one to eleven, it just wasn’t good enough. Nowhere near good enough from what I want from my team.
“They made it difficult for us. They deserved the result. So, I’m giving them credit.
“We’ve got to bounce back. It’s difficult for the supporters when they’re watching a game like that.
“My aim is to keep us up and my aim is to get us out of the league next season. So, I’ve got to concentrate on the first thing, which is staying up.”
