Chesterfield have signed Curacao international winger Gevaro on loan from Oldham Athletic, subject to the deal being approved by the FA.

The 26-year-old, who is due to remain at the Proact until January 1, spoke of his delight at signing, saying: "It's a big club and the facilities and the stadium are amazing.”

Gevaro revealed that he talked to former Chesterfield pair Dan Gardner and Chris O'Grady before agreeing to sign and the presence of his old manager John Sheridan was also a factor in his decision to make the switch. He said: "They told me that Chesterfield is a great club with amazing people.

"I had good communication and a good feeling with the manager at Oldham so it was an easy decision for me. He gives me confidence and helps me to be a better player.”

Gevaro was born in Curacao and raised in the Netherlands. He played in Holland for FC Den Bosch and Fortuna Sittard before stints in Romania and Portugal.

Oldham signed Gevaro in September 2017 and he featured regularly for the Latics last season, scoring six goals in 49 appearances.
