Bodies of mother and son found in Derbyshire Reservoir formally identified

A formal identification has taken place this weekend of the mother and son that were recovered from Valehouse Reservoir in Tintwistle on Thursday, November 22.

Police say they can now confirm that they were the bodies of Emma Sillett aged 41 and Jenson Spellman aged five from Dinting in Glossop.

Emma and Jenson were reported missing on Tuesday, November 20. Following extensive searches conducted by officers and other agencies Emma’s car was located and later two bodies were recovered from the reservoir.

Assistant Chief Constable Kem Mehmet said: “I would like to take this opportunity to pass on my own condolences, as well as those of every officer in Derbyshire, to the family and friends of Emma and Jenson.”

A file will now be prepared for the coroner.
