Bolsover teenager launches app to help people locate their nearest defibrillator

Joe Robinson's made his interactive defibrillator map available on Android and IOS.

You'll now be able to find out where your nearest defibrillator is by downloading an app to your phone.

It's all thanks to Bolsover resident Joe Robinson, who created the map in memory of his late brother Tom, who died suddenly while playing football in Dronfield.

The map's now available on smart phones, and Mr. Robinson spoke to to us about why he decided to turn his online tool into a mobile app;

"Maybe the website I created wasn't the easiest way for people to find out where their nearest defibrillator is.

"That's why the thought came to me to create an app, so it'll be easier for people to use.

"It goes as far north as Hull, and as far south as Southampton.

"Hopefully by the end of next year the whole of the UK will be mapped out, and everybody will be able to see where their nearest defibrillator is."

It's available in the app store if you search for 'Defib-Map'.
