Chesterfield Dry Gin wins runner-up award at International Gin Awards

It came second in the 'London Dry Gin' and 'Traditional Gin' categories.

Derbyshire Distillery's Chesterfield Dry Gin has been named as runner up at the International Gin Guide 2019 Awards.

The product was recognised in two separate categories overall.

Head Distiller there David Hemstock hopes the business-which only formed last year-will expand as a result; "Ideally, this will help push us further afield. We're now supplying here in Chesterfield, as well as Sheffield, Derby and Mansfield, so within a twenty-five mile radius. However, we'd like to push it further than that in future."

The business, who're situated near Staveley,  are also looking to expand to a bigger base in the near future; "At the moment we're in a unit down at Poolsbrook. We've taken on another unit down at Markham Vale, which is going to be a much bigger, purpose-built distillery and production area. We're hoping to get moved in within a couple of months."

Speaking about the recognition his gin has received, David told Peak FM "I was very surprised. We only started twelve months ago. I put a good few months of work into the Chesterfield Dry Gin, and that's become the base for our other flavoured gins."
