A retired firefighter from Chesterfield will be taking part in the TV show Ninja Warrior tomorrow evening
Lud Ramsey trains at the Spireites' Gym and is going on the show more than 25 years after he appeared on Galdiators in 1992.
The ITV series has been described as "the toughest obstacle course on TV." It's hosted by Ben Shephard, Rochelle Humes and Chris 'Kammy' Kamara, and this series sees a new group of hopeful competitors push themselves to the limit to complete the ultimate challenge.
Lud told Peak FM how he felt when it was hit turn to take on the gruelling course: "Obviously they've got the crowd, and when you jump from side-to-side, the crowd is going 'woooaaahh,' and I'm trying to concentrate while everyone is trying to put you off!"
He told us he hopes his appearance on the show will inspire others to get active: "If you've got a goal, it will give you that added incentive to get up that extra bit early in the morning and do that extra bit of training, because you've got that event where you have to perform at the end of it.
"That's why I encourage people to take part in things."
You can see Lud in action tomorrow (Saturday, 14th April) on ITV from 6:30pm.
