Chesterfield man to appear at crown court next week charged with Graham Snell murder

A Chesterfield man has appeared before magistrates charged with the murder of 71-year-old Graham Snell this morning

29-year-old Daniel Walsh, of Marsden Street was arrested earlier this week. Police confirmed yesterday (Thursday 4th July) that he had been charged with Mr Snell's murder.

Magistrates have referred the case to Nottingham Crown Court, where Walsh is due to appear on Monday, 8th July.

Police said Mr. Snell was last seen alive on Wednesday, June 19, in Chesterfield town centre. Derbyshire Constabulary said that during their enquiries into his disappearance, information came to light which changed the investigation from one of a missing person to one of murder.

Officers confirmed yesterday the body of what is believed to be Mr Snell has been found, however formal identification has yet to take place.
