Chesterfield residents invited to express their condolences to those who lost their life during the Sri Lanka terror attack over Easter

An open book which the public can sign is going to be at the Borough Council's Customer Service Centre until May.

Local residents are invited to sign a book of condolence at the Chesterfield Borough Council Customer Service Centre in memory of those who lost their life in the Easter Sunday terrorist attack in Sri Lanka.

The Customer Service Centre can be found at 85 New Square, Chesterfield. Feel free to call in at any time during opening hours (shown below). 

The Customer Service Centre is open:

Monday, Tuesday and Thursday - 8.30am to 5pm
Wednesday - 10am to 5pm
Friday - 8.30am to 4.30pm

The book will be available to sign from Thursday 25 April until Friday 10 May 2019.

The Mayor of Chesterfield, Councillor Stuart Brittain, said: “We encourage residents to join the commemoration and sign the book of condolence.

“It is important that we stand in support of our Commonwealth neighbours who have lost loved ones from both the UK and around the world.”

More than 300 people were killed in the attacks and 500 were wounded.
