Chesterfield residents warned of two potential scams taking place across the borough

They're in relation to Council Tax.

Chesterfield Borough Council have received warnings from residents of two scams operating at the moment.

Some residents have received a call from someone claiming to be from the council saying they are due a refund on their Council Tax and asked the person to supply their debit card details.

Others have received a text message from ‘Chesterfield Council’ (no number shown).
The message states “You are due a refund. Visit our secure site www.counciltaxrepayment.co.uk”

Both of these are scams.
