Chesterfield woman jailed for assault and a string of thefts in the area

A 36 year-old woman has been jailed for 16 weeks after assaulting a shop worker and stealing from stores in Chesterfield nine times in just over five weeks.

Jessica Hodgkinson, formerly of Albion Road, Chesterfield, pleaded guilty to the offences which took place between Tuesday 21 April and Saturday 16 May.

The stores affected included Poundland, Superdrug and Boots in Chesterfield town centre, Ashgate Service Station, The Range on Lordsmill Street and Asda on Sheffield Road.

Miss Hodgkinson was sentenced to a total of 16 weeks in prison for the offences, and ordered to pay £466 compensation by magistrates at Chesterfield Justice Centre on Wednesday 20 May.
