Chesterfield's MP wants more funding for further education

Toby Perkins insists he'll continue to put pressure on the Government.

Chesterfield's MP is calling on the Government to listen to requests for more funding into further education.

Toby Perkins says the town's local college requires greater investment.

He feels the national cuts since 2010 have taken their toll; "More funding is very badly required. I think there's a widespread view across Parliament that too many cuts have been implemented in this sector since the Tories got into power. There's been a 30 per cent reduction in funding during this time frame. It's gone too far."

Mr Perkins also added that he isn't prepared to back down on the matter; "I'm going to be keeping the pressure up on the Government, and I think a lot of others will be joining me."
