Fire and Ambulance crews demonstrate a rescue

Students at Chesterfield College had their eyes opened to the dangers of irresponsible driving this morning.

Fire, ambulance and police crews were on hand to simulate a car crash with students acting as live casualties.

A crash between 2 cars and a bike was set up and crews used cutting equipment to rescue the people trapped inside.

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue were on hand with a running commentary of what was taking place and were also ready to answer any questions students may have had.

Information about the alcohol limits for drivers as well as the importance of wearing a seatbelt were also relayed to the large crowd of teenagers.
