The Covid-19 testing facility at Chesterfield Football Club is now available to the public
It's after the town's MP Toby Perkins questioned the facility only being available to NHS staff and key workers, meaning some residents were having to travel around 30 to 40 miles for tests in some cases
Mr. Perkins says the opening of the facility to everyone is a huge step: "It's a nonsense that its took so long for testing to be available in Chesterfield. This is a really significant step, it means that anyone who has symptoms will be able to book a test and they'll be able to book it via the national portal.
"This isn't the same as the anti-body test that would be suitable for people who think they may have had it in the past, this test is only useful for people in the first five or six days of having symptoms, but it is a really significant step."
