Cromford Canal to get a facelift?

Major restoration work could be in the pipeline for a waterway and the surrounding footpath.

Derbyshire County has paid for a report into its current status with many options on the table from small changes to benefit walkers to a full restoration scheme.

Nature boat trips could soon be a regular feature on the canal if plans for refurbishments are approved.

The waterway is currently undergoing inspection to see what work is needed to restore it to its former glory.

The findings will be considered at the next meeting of the Cromford Canal Partnership in March.
