Derbyshire County Council urge residents to be more cautious of scams as part of awareness fortnight

The authority fears fraudsters will try and exploit vulnerable residents in the midst of the uncertainty created by the coronavirus pandemic.

We're currently in the middle of scams awareness fortnight and Derbyshire County Council say they're trying to make more people aware of the issue.

Recently the authority's trading standards team have been working to prevent residents falling victim to fraud due to uncertainty created by coronavirus.

They've contacted over four hundred people who they've identified as particularly vulnerable, to provide reassurance and advice.
