Derbyshire man sentenced for rape and attempted murder

A Derbyshire man has been jailed for life for raping and attempting to murder a woman

Anthony Dealey repeatedly strangled his victim after she got off a night bus in Ilkeston in November last year.

The 43 year old, of Erewash Square, Ilkeston, was told he must serve a minimum of 13 and a half years behind bars.

Dealey was found guilty of rape, attempted murder, robbery and assault by penetration at Derby Crown Court in September.

The attack happened in Queens Avenue, Ilkeston, on November 26, 2017, at around 3.40am.
