Dronfield-based voluntary organisation continue to produce face masks for key workers in our patch

The group formed back in the spring of 2020.

A voluntary organisation in Dronfield have now provided over thirty-one thousand face masks to key workers across North East Derbyshire and South Yorkshire.

'Shelagh's Sewing Circle' are currently producing 500 of them every day.

Shelagh Cheetham, who's behind the initiative, says they've come a long way since their formation back in April;

"We're now at a total of about 180 people who sew, and about 20 other volunteers who deal with the admin and the delivery side of things which happen behind the scenes.

"We're particularly focused on delivering the items to care homes, doctors surgeries, local health practice teams and other essential key workers in our community here in Dronfield, as well as in Sheffield and Chesterfield.
