The borough could potentially pick up a gold award for the fourth consecutive year.
Judges from the East Midlands in Bloom competition will visit Chesterfield this Friday as part of their judging tour of the region.
Members of the media are encouraged to come along and speak to the judges.

As well as pretty gardens and flowers, the judges will be looking for examples of high levels of recycling, clean streets and community involvement.
Chesterfield has received a gold award in the East Midlands in Bloom competition for the last three years. It is hoped the borough will achieve the gold standard again.
