Families pay tribute to women killed in Derbyshire crash

The families of two women who died after a crash on the A515, at Clifton, Ashbourne have paid tribute to them.

Nancy Walker, 49, from Swadlincote, and 26-year-old Tanya Hicklin, from Hatton, both died at the scene of the crash that took place on Saturday, November 17, at 11.10pm.

Tanya’s husband Tom, said: “Tanya was a much loved mother, daughter, granddaughter, wife and friend.

“She was a fun loving girl who doted on her family - and daughter even more.

“Tanya was very close to her grandparents and myself and enjoyed meeting up with her friends for drinks and coffees.

“She was a fantastic mum to Lilly Rose, she looked after me as her husband and she will be greatly missed following such a tragic event.”

The family of Nancy Walker said: “Nancy was a very proud and caring mum of two. She inspired many with her work and aspiration in life.”

The incident involved a silver Mercedes C Class and a white Renault Clio.

Nancy, who was driving the Mercedes, was travelling away from Ashbourne, and Tanya, who was driving the Renault, was travelling in the opposite direction.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the crash or may have dashcam footage of the incident or the moments preceding it.
