Flooding causes travel disruption across North Derbyshire

Motorists are being told to be cautious and check before travelling due to flooding in parts of North Derbyshire

Persistent rain has affected the region and closed a number of major routes.

We've been told by listeners flooding has affected the following routes:

  • A617 Hasland By-pass - Closed both ways due to flooding at Hornsbridge 
  • Emmett Carr Lane - Renishaw
  • Unstone- Near the old Fleur De lys pub
  • Eckington road from Staveley to Eckington
  • Renishaw road at top of Mastin Moor
  • Station Hill - Clowne
  • Bottom of slip road on to Dronfield by-pass Southbound from Dunston 
  • Hall Lane - Staveley
  • Dunston lane around Sheepbridge Industrial Estate and Sheepbridge Lane 
  • Barrow Hill canal bridge flooded- no buses running there at the moment
  • North wingfield to Grassmoor road - deep water just after Red House North wingfield
  • Deepsick Lane towards Arkwright
  • Buttermilk lane, Shuttlewood
  • Tom lane closed at Duckmanton
  • Bottom of Apperknowle Hill near Unstone and Hundall
  • B6056 Eckington Road/Snowden Lane just past Wards Garden Centre

The Environment Agency have also extended their flood warnings to include Rivers Wye and Derwent at Rowsley and the River Derwent from Hathersage to Darley Dale.

Staff at St Mary's Catholic High School in Newbold have also told us the school will be closed tomorrow:
