An inquest into the death of a 40-year-old man from Killamarsh confirmed he didn\'t die from a hammer attack.
Chesterfield coroner's court was told Lawrence Allen had 18 stitches for a head wound following an assault in June.
Five weeks later he collapsed, apparently hallucinating and died the following day in Hospital.
But the inquest was told Mr Allen had an a problem with alcohol and died from a chronic liver problem.
They revealed there was no evidence to connect his death to the serious head injury he sustained.
