Investigation launched after fire in Whittington Moor this morning

Police are investigating after a fire which they believe was started deliberately at a disused building on Whittington Moor this morning.

A Police spokesperson said: "We received a call at 5.20am this morning (Tuesday 12 May) to reports of a fire at a disused building on Avenue Road in Whittington Moor. Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service attended.

"No one was in the building, or hurt or injured.

"It is believed the fire was started deliberately and our officers are working with the fire service to investigate.
