Derbyshire Police have confirmed they are investigating an assault in Renishaw back in June and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Officers say at about 9pm on Friday 24th June a 27-year old local man was allegedly grabbed around the neck and became involved in a scuffle outside the Miners Welfare Social Club in the town. It’s understood he was then bitten by two Staffordshire Bull Terriers with the dog bites causing serious injury to the lower part of his body and legs.
A 23-year old man, from Renishaw, and a 27-year old woman from Chesterfield have been arrested in connection with the alleged assault and were released on bail after being questioned.
CCTV at the club shows a large number of people in the area at the time.
