LISTEN: Chesterfield GP raised cash for charity by climbing Kilimanjaro

A Walton-based GP has managed to raise over £700 for various charities by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.

Dr Denise Glover took on the challenge-to raise money for cancer and dementia non-profit organisations-earlier this month.

Dr Glover told us the final day of the task was the hardest: "Summit day was really hard. It took me 10 to 11 hours to reach the summit. As you climbed up the mountain there were people climbing down who failed to continue.

"Some of them were crying, some of them looked very ill. There was a point where I thought I don't think I'm going to make this."
