A new community group in Chesterfield is aiming to tackle social isolation in the town.

A new social group in Chesterfield is aiming to prevent loneliness in the town.

Phoenix Pals often arrange activities such as book club, quiz nights and meals out for its members-who're aged 18 or above.

Cristina from the group says its changed her life for the better;

"We know there are a lot of people out there who are sat at home, on their own, wishing they had a social life. 

"They may be new to the area, just out of a relationship, long term single or newly widowed, all are welcome to our group.

"Our group is open to everyone, single, married, widowed, divorced".

Phoenix Pals regularly organise activities such as meals out, quiz nights and cinema trips for anybody over the age of 18.
