Man is assaulted and robbed in South Normanton

Derbyshire Police have confirmed that they are investigating after a teenager was robbed as he walked through South Normanton.

Officers say the 18-year old was walking along a public footpath from Lea Vale to the recreation ground behind the Boundary Pub at around 6.45pm on Tuesday 12th July, when he noticed two men on the path.

One of the men asked him for the time before punching the victim in the face and grabbing his mobile phone out of his hand. Both men then ran off in the direction of Pinxton.

One of the men was described as white, in his early 20s, about 5ft 11ins tall and of average build. He was wearing grey jogging bottoms, a black padded jacket, black trainers and a black Ralph Lauren cap with a red logo on.

The second man was described as white, in his early 20s and about 5ft 9ins tall. He was of a stocky build and was wearing grey skinny jogging bottoms, a dark coloured raincoat, blue suede Adidas trainers and a white cap.

Anyone with information about what happened or who may recognise the two men police would like to talk to is being urged to contact PC Dave Morton on 101, quoting reference number 16000190731.
