Man jailed after leaving victim with 'life-changing injuries' in pub assault

A 40 year old man from Shuttlewood has been sent to prison for attacking another man in a pub near Alfreton last November

Graham Gardiner of Chesterfield Road left his victim with life-changing brain injuries after punching him at the Sitwell Arms in Morton.

Gardiner was sentenced to 45 months behind bars on 25th June for the incident following a trial at Derby Crown Court.

The court heard how the victim has suffered a number of impairments after hitting his head on the floor as a result of the attack.

The judge told Gardiner he didn't believe he had the "slightest bit of remorse" since the incident.
