Police called to concerns for a man's safety on Markham Road bridge

Police received a call at around 9.30am about the incident.

Police confirmed they were called to reports of threatening to jump from a bridge on Markham Road in Chesterfield.

The force received a call about a man on the wrong side of the railings there at around 9.30am.

The road was closed as a result, however it was confirmed just before noon that the man had moved back over to the right side of the railings.

Markham Road has since been re-opened.
