Mecca Bingo reopens in Chesterfield following a 'deep clean' of its premises

The club published a statement yesterday evening.

Mecca Bingo in Chesterfield has reopened following a deep clean of its premises.

The club confirmed it was shut down temporarily yesterday following guidance from Public Health England.

However, a spokesperson for the establishment confirmed that normal service resumed there at 5.30pm yesterday.

You can read the statement in full below;

"Following the guidance from Public Health England, we took the decision to temporarily close our Mecca Bingo club in Chesterfield to undertake a full deep clean of the premises. We believe it is likely that this venue came into direct contact with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) though we are unable to confirm on which dates this may have happened. The deep clean has now been completed and we will be re-opening the Club again from 5.30pm today.

Please be reassured that our Mecca venues have elevated their already high standards of hygiene, providing increased accessibility of hand sanitiser and further enhancing our cleaning regimes. We would ask that all of our customers follow the advice from Public Health England which you can find here [hyperlink to - https://publichealthmatters.blog.gov.uk/.../wuhan-novel.../ ]

We apologise again for the inconvenience we have caused in closing the club to complete this deep clean.

Thank you for your continued support."
