They're hopeful the project will still go ahead.
Midlands connect, who support new transport initiatives in our area, are confident HS2 would bring more positives than negatives to North Derbyshire.
An independent review by the Government's currently assessing whether the High Speed Two project will still go ahead or not.
However, James Bovill, from Midlands Connect, reckons it'd transform services locally and beyond in a good way;
"By freeing up space on the existing railway network, HS2 will allow more frequent services between Chesterfield, Derby and down to the West Midlands into Birmingham.
"There will also be less crowding. Chesterfield really will benefit from High Speed Two.
"The biggest benefit of HS2 is not just the speed of the proposed services; it'll also create extra capacity, which's very much needed."
Douglas Oakervee is chairing the independent review, and he'll work alongside Lord Berkeley.
