Another demonstration is taking place outside the Chesterfield branch of an international IT firm this Friday.
Unite the Union says hundreds of workers at DXC face dismissal after the company announced its intention to move some of it's operations elsewhere.
A statement from the union says: "The proposed job losses which will impact the majority of workers on the company’s Old Road site in Chesterfield, will leave only a skeleton staff on the site.
"Unite the Union has said that it believes that this may lead to the full closure of the site.
DXC Technology is a major US corporation which has benefited from the privatisation of Royal Mail and has made massive profits on the backs of the Chesterfield workforce over recent years.
"The loss of so many highly skilled jobs would be a major blow to the economy of Chesterfield and the surrounding area.
"Unite the Union have pledged to oppose the job cuts and possible closure with a major campaign including possible industrial action. It is vital that our whole community rallies around to support the DXC workers, supports the campaign launched by Unite the Union and saves jobs in our town."
Last month, Peak FM contacted DXC for comment, and they gave us the following statement: "The management and employee representatives of DXC Technology are currently in dialogue regarding a number of topics.
"DXC management has always taken a fair and responsible approach towards our employees and intend to continue doing so."
The gathering is due to begin at 12:45pm on Friday, 12th July.
