Eligible firms can apply from today.
Following the success of Phase one of the Discretionary Grants Fund, to help small businesses in the District access funding support, North East Derbyshire District Council has now reviewed its criteria based on our experience of the applications received so far, to better meet the needs of our small businesses.
The authority has reduced the qualifying levels for ongoing fixed property costs and loss of income and are now opening Phase two for applications from 12 June 2020.
Grants of £10,000 are available to small businesses that are not eligible for the Small Business Grant Fund, the Retail, Leisure and Hospitality Fund or other central government support schemes and can evidence ongoing fixed property-related costs and a drop of income due to Coronavirus restriction measures.
Businesses are advised to visit the authority’s website and read the Discretionary Grants Fund guidance document to check their eligibility before completing the online application.
Leader of the Council, Councillor Martin Thacker, MBE, said, “We are keen to continue supporting our small businesses that have not been eligible for other Government funding so far”.
“By extending this scheme, we will be able to help more of our businesses during the coronavirus pandemic and support our local economy and I urge businesses to read the guidance document to check their eligibility and to apply for funding if they meet the criteria”.
Phase 2 of the Local Authority Discretionary Fund is open until 21 June 2020. The application form and Discretionary Grants Fund Guidance can be found on the authority’s website www.ne-derbyshire.gov.uk
Please note, there is no need for businesses that have already applied under Phase 1 to re-apply as all applications will be re-assessed against the new criteria. This will include those that have been notified they were unsuccessful or have been awarded less than £10,000.
