North East Derbyshire's MP calls for a bypass linking Staveley and Chesterfield

Lee Rowley thinks it'd attract further financial investment into the area.

North East Derbyshire's MP thinks a bypass linking Staveley to Chesterfield could help re-generate the whole area.

Lee Rowley told us he's looking to gain government support for the proposals;

"The bypass is hopefully the key to unlocking a whole range of re-generation benefits for Staveley and the surrounding areas.

"I'm hopeful that we can finally convince the Government, after nearly a century, that this is an important thing to invest in.

"Also, it'll relieve some of the congestion between Staveley and Brimington, if it's given the go ahead."

It's hoped the bypass would bring fresh investment to the area, along with reducing traffic and congestion.
