Police have arrested a 39-year-old man in Chesterfield on suspicion of five theft offences and one of common assault.
It's after a number of items were taken from supermarkets in the area during September and early this month.
A police spokesperson confirmed Tesco, Co-op and Spar stores in the area had been affected.
The Chesterfield Safer Neighbourhood Team confirmed the news on Twitter:
