A huge rail manufacturing firm has outlined it's plans to build a brand new innovation centre in Barrow Hill
Talgo recently established a head office in Chesterfield, and it's hoped the new centre will bring around 190 jobs to the area.
The new innovation and training centre will be co-located with the already-existing roundhouse at Barrow Hill.
The company specialise in building high-speed trains and have a presence in 44 countries globally.
Chesterfield Borough Council leader, Cllr Tricia Gilby told Peak FM: "I'm hoping that it will build on the programmes we have already got running across Chesterfield and Staveley, to encourage young people to realise that there are going to be future jobs in the rail industry.
"Barrow Hill and Staveley have been struggling to recover ground that was lost when the pits closed. This opportunity means that young people have something to focus on for their future careers."
