A campaign's running throughout March.
Roads police in Derbyshire say they're cracking down on people driving without a seat belt on.
Officers say they caught 17 people flouting the law at just one of their check sites in clay cross last week.
PC Ian Miller is urging people not to put their safety at risk; "Statistics show that most accidents happen within a short distance from the home. We see a lot of delivery drivers not wearing one because they're in and out of their vehicles."
"If you're thrown from your vehicle, three out of four people will receive serious or life ending injuries. It's also a £100 fine if you get caught not wearing one!"
Chesterfield. Working with @ChesterfieldSNT and @CRESTDerbyshire today to identify those committing #Fatal4 offences, with a particular focus on seatbelts. Our plain clothes spotters will see you before you see them. #BeltUp #RoadSafety pic.twitter.com/QXR2HonkOz— Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit (@DerbyshireRPU) March 13, 2019
