The school tweeted about the matter just before 8.30pm last night.
Tupton Hall Secondary School in Chesterfield have confirmed a small number of children are off ill at the moment due to several cases of suspected mumps.
The school are urging any pupil who's feeling unwell or showing symptoms of the illness to contact a GP.

Notably, the number of cases of mumps has hit its highest in England in a decade.
More than 5-thousand were recorded last year - four times the number in 2018.
