Shirebrook man jailed for rape and sexual assault

A man has been jailed for raping a woman twice and sexually assaulting her.

33-year-old Nigel William Webster of Manvers Court was found guilty of two counts of rape and one of a sexual assault.

He denied the offences, which took place in Shirebrook in April 2016, but was found guilty after a trial.

Derby Crown court heard how all the offences were carried out against the same victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

Webster was sentenced to six years and six months in prison, and ordered to pay a £120 victim surcharge.
