Teenager suffers cut in attack in Kelstedge

An investigation has been launched after a teenage boy was left with a cut on his stomach after being grabbed by a man near to Kelstedge Inn.

Police have said a 16-year old boy was walking along The Causeway at around 11pm on Thursday, 21st July, when he was approached by a man who grabbed him by the shoulder.

The is said to have felt a scratching pain to his stomach and ran round the corner to the bus stop, getting on the X17 Stagecoach bus which was arriving.

The boy later realised he had suffered a cut to his stomach and went to hospital but was released a short time later.

He has described the man as black, stocky and around 5ft 8ins tall. He had a beard and wore baggy trousers, white Adidas trainers, a black beanie hat and a blue jacket.

Police are now trying to trace any witnesses to the attack or any passengers who were on the X17 at that time.
