A Greek national and an illegal immigrant from Albania have been jailed following a raid by police in Chesterfield just days after arriving in the town.
Ntenis Pteritai, 23 and Mariglen Skendaj, 36 were caught growing the drug in a flat above a shop on Wharf Lane.
140 plants of the class B drug were recovered by officers in total during a raid which took place back in November.
The duo have been jailed for a combined total of almost four years after they admitted to growing the drug.
The judge jailed Petritai for two years and Skendaj for 22 months
The judge also told the pair that they would be liable for deportation as the sentences were over 12 months but the final decision on this would be down to the Secretary of State.
