Two men have been arrested on suspicion of drug offences in Ilkeston after officers acted on intelligence received from the community.
The stop searches took place during the evening of Tuesday 19th July in the Fisher Court area of the town under the Misuse of Drugs Act with a quantity of what was believed to be Class A drugs was recovered.
A 39-year old man and a 44-year old man were arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled drug with intent to supply and taken to St Marys Wharf Police Station in Derby where they were questioned and later released on bail pending further inquiries.
Inspector Jim Thompson, who is in charge of policing in the town said: “We took the action as a result of intelligence received from the community. This type of suspected behaviour is upsetting to those who see it happen and are affected by the resulting criminality and anti-social behaviour so we will always act when we receive such information.”
