Witness appeal after woman is robbed in Chesterfield.

Police are looking for witnesses after a woman was robbed in Chesterfield.

The woman was allegedly pushed into an alleyway in a robbery where a man made off with her mobile phone and jacket..

On Thursday, January 1 between 4.00am and 4.15am, an 18-year-old woman was making her way home when she was pushed into an alleyway and robbed.

The victim had left a bar in the town centre and was walking up Corporation Street toward the Vibe Bar where she tried to catch a taxi.

She walked towards an estate agent on the corner of Holywell Cross to flag a taxi when she was pushed into an alleyway next to the shop.

A man held her by her shoulders against the wall and demanded her belongings.

The victim handed over her mobile phone, he grabbed her jacket and made off with it down the alleyway towards the car parks.

The suspect is described as white, in his early 20s, approximately 5ft 9ins and of average build. He was wearing a dark hooded top and described as having a very deep voice.
